Law School of Taiyuan University of Science and Technology was founded in September 1997.With 10 years’ development and all faculty’s endeavor, Law School realized three steps: recruiting scope from junior college students to bachelors, from bachelors to masters.
Development of our school should be taken under the background of total prosperity of legal academia and upraise of procedure laws discipline. Our school was authorized to recruit masters of procedure laws in 2002, and we have three professors, and four associate professors, in which there is one doctoral candidate and four masters, in our tutor group, which is a potential and creative research team, and meanwhile engaged well-known jurist, professor of Peoples’ University, doctoral tutor, who offers guidance to our research team sufficiently. Our tutors, who are erudite in knowledge and prominent in research have done their utmost in their work, published over 100 dissertations, some of which were reprinted in Xinhua Digiest and Renda Duplicated Materials, and managed and completed over 10 academic programs from provincial and department offices and published over 10 academic works. There are two leading professor in our department: Monsieur Professor Yao Xiandi published academic works On Jury System, Constructing Jury System with Chinese Characteristics, and thus have some potential social influences, and Monsieur Professor Hao Aijun published A Study on Three Agricultural Problems and gained first class award of Shanxi Social Science Association’s “100 Works Program”.
There are four research directions in our major: that is, Procedural Principles, Civil Procedural Law, Criminal Procedural Law, and Administrative Procedural Law. According to practical characteristic of this discipline, Monsieur Yao and Hao make a leading principle “Taking students as base, informative technique as methods, fostering competence as ends”, our discipline has seen students’ competence as life line, and done our utmost in fostering competence for analyzing and resolving problems. |
